I just launched my firm and knew that I wanted a cybersecurity firm behind me because I don’t know what I don’t know, which is the exact same thing that we tell our clients.

I can tell you that they have overdelivered on their promises. They really make my small firm look and feel like a massive firm. I feel incredibly confident that if I was in front of a regulator, instead of being able to say things like, “Well yeah I use a VPN,” or “I make sure that I have two-factor authentication,” I can tell a regulator that those policies are drafted in my compliance manual. I have a written information security policy, or WISP, and those policies are enforced on my machines even when it’s just me.

It allows me the confidence to infinitely scale as I hire staff. I know that they’re up and running faster and with less concern and oversight on my side because the machines are configured and the laptops are configured to force that additional security. I don’t need an employee who has a minor in cybersecurity to be able to get up and running and protect my clients’ information.

Frankly I think utilizing a cybersecurity vendor is part of your fiduciary duty to your clients.
